Disadvantages of mobile phones

No doubt, the tech savvy generation depends highly on smart phones to stay connected and the advantages of these user friendly gadgets are too many to count. But as per an old saying, everything has it’s pros and cons and handsets are no different. Being a modern day user, I completely understand the utility of the smart phones but there are many disadvantages of mobile phones which cannot be ignored. First of all, the hi-tech mobile phones are quite expensive and do not get settled into the budget scheme easily. Moreover, with more and more features like multimedia messages (MMS), kids often perform wrong deeds. Not only this, at times, people use built-in cameras for wrong purposes. Same is the case with the Bluetooth facility which can be used in a wrong way.

Apart from this, the new age mobile phones come with built-in music players and FM radio which fulfill the demands of the music freaks but at the same time, cause damage to our ears. Moreover, excessive usage of handsets results in brain cancer and many other related diseases. The disadvantages of mobile phones can be estimated further in the form of poor reception. In rural or remote areas or in planes, these smart handsets become useless or offer limited connectivity. Not only this, now the people don’t mind talking while driving and this practice often results in fatal accidents.

The long list of disadvantages keeps on getting bigger with the inclusion of interesting embedded games in the mobile phones which keep the kids busy all the time. Similarly, built-in web browser and technology like Wi Fi allow the users to access Internet all the time which actually results in less reading and writing. When everything gets displayed with a single key, then, who wants to get engaged with books and all? So, on the whole, the smart phones keep you connected to your loved ones, irrespective of distance but excessive usage definitely causes problems and adds more to the list of the disadvantages of mobile phones.
