Nokia N900 – You can't beat this!

Nokia's performance had gone down with the economic meltdown and also the increasing number of handset manufacturers coming up with superb designs such as Apple's iPhone handset. This led to Nokia losing its market in the third quarter statistics of 2009. However, the world's largest mobile phone maker won't take this hampering without giving a fight. It was clearly made visible by their introduction of spectacular smartphone Nokia N900.

N900 is a quad band phone for its 2G network with the bands supported being GSM 850/900/1800/1900 and it also allows for 3G network services. Therefore you can carry this phone whenever you travel to a foreign location which can even be in another continent and not have to worry about losing network access which is otherwise the norm with other devices. Also with its 3G network support one can surf plenty of Internet websites in great speeds which takes the step forward from the rather slower connections of GPRS and EDGE.

It has a body structure of 110.9 mm (length) by 59.8 mm (width) by 18 mm (depth) which are superb characteristics for a phone of such flare and magnitude. The body weight on this phone is of 181 grams which can be considered bulky by some but is quite understandable considering the features it offers and the large features on the body structure.

A 3.5 inch TFT display touchscreen dominates its body panel. This large display makes sure you enjoy viewing videos/movies, large display images, webpages without having to scroll around too much. The resolution of this display is 800 X 480 pixels and can emit sixteen million wonderful colours. Its quality is further enhanced and improved with a proximity sensor for auto turn off, accelerometer sensor for auto rotate and a full QWERTY keyboard can be found on its sliding keyboard.

Data can be stored on its exceptionally large memory with various file formats supported. Internal memory is of 32GB coming with a 256MB RAM and the external memory is upto 16GB using the microSD memory card. Files can be stored as documents, messages, music, images, wallpapers, videos, contacts, etc. Call records can be fetched for the last 30days at the maximum.

The phone has a five megapixel camera which is absolutely splendid. I have been using it to capture images and videos of me and my family when we visited Stonehedge. The view is superb in itself and add to that the phone's camera features of a Carl Zeiss optical lens, auto focus, dual LED flash, video light and Geo-tagging, for personalisation, would help us keep it in the memories forever. There is a secondary camera present too which can be used for video calling.

I had bought this phone when it was launched as I was part of the pre-orderer list. So far I can only speak good of the phone in terms of features, looks, desi
